With our headquarters in Dresden, we are strategically located in the largest center of microelectronic industries in Europe. As the capital of the German state of Saxony, Dresden is at the heart of “Silicon Saxony”, a term used to describe the region and its hundreds of microelectronics businesses.
Maintaining strong, collaborative relationships with local manufacturing companies and world-renowned universities (e.g. TU Dresden and HTW), Dresden is also the center of our R&D activities.
In addition to its high density of outstanding research institutions, Dresden is also well known for its history, beautiful baroque architecture, and broad collection of fine arts.

We’ve developed a client to establish communication between OPC UA servers (e.g. running on an industrial PLC) and SYSTEMA automation components. This client is supposed to be extended by a directory discovery feature. I.e. the client should discover an OPC UA server’s directory/node structure and store it into a unified format. This way, SYSTEMA automation components should be enabled to lookup the endpoints provided by the OPC UA server.
Depending on your knowledge about OPC UA, you would at first get an introduction into the technology. Your task is then to research about how OPC UA allows this kind of discovery and implement it as part of our client application.
You should have knowledge and experience about/with OPC UA as well as programming skills in Java and should be interested in industrial automation in general.
